The US flag no longer waves proudly over the former Salvo post office on North Carolina's Outer Banks. After Hurricane Isabel blasted through the area last year. Unable to add the mandatory wheelchair ramp or widen the door for wheelchair access, it was quietly closed and absorbed with the Waves, NC branch. Now it sits quietly, desperately need of a new paint job watching the traffic fly by - almost hidden from view.

Please do - there are a few tiny post offices in the country - one in SW Michigan is still in use - but this one's still smaller than that one!
