A very pleasing picture. I, too, under-expose when shooting into the sun. It cuts down on the glare and lets the colors show.

Thanks so much... I have been learning by way of my husband-teacher about 'stopping down f-stops and shutter speeds'. Before the last couple of years I only took pics of family, but have learned that I simply LOVE hiking and going to 'parts unkonown' to attemp to capture that ONE image that makes it all worth paying more attention to details. Your thoughts are much appreciated!
