About This Image

My dog Daisy and I go out for our walks in the desert everyday. The sun had just gone down when I took this photo of a Cholla Cactus.

Hi Ann, Yea Daisy and I hate it now, we can't enjoy our area we usually go walking in. Now we have to walk along the dirt roads until all of the cactus balls fall off and the wind blows them into corners. I have thought about getting Daisy some shoes :-) ~Alan~

Hi again Alan. That is very interesting about the ends dropping off the cactus. Poor Daisy having to watch where she walks. I guess one doesn't go around walking in there bare feet. HUH? :-)

Hi Ann, I'm glad you enjoyed my photo.. You really have to be careful walking around, everything will stick you LOL.. Those fists on the ends are what happens where the blooms were. Now those round ends are falling off. They are a real Pain. If you step on them they are hard to remove, you have to use a stick, and our dog Daisy has a hard time getting them off her feet. The Chipmunks use them for protection putting them along a path to there hole and all around there home. ~Alan~

Wow! Nice capture of the (spines?) on the cactus. The colors are so vibrant. I like this capture very much. Okay so this is silly, but the tops of cactus, some of them look like little fists. :-) Oh my!
