crape myrtle is a shrub/tree that we don't see here, but have read about it in gardening books. Nice to see a photo of it here. it reminds me a bit of azalea and rhodos, but the petals are more frilly.

Beautiful capture of these lovely blooms. They just seem to thrive in the hot sun.
