About This Image

A purple, Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose) flower and bud close-up.
Although having the same kind of leaf as the Primrose, the Streptocarpus is not in the same family, but is related to St Paulias (African Violets), Columneas and Achimenes.
Grown as a houseplant in England.

Thanks for viewing:)

Carol, Talsi, Ann and Chriss...Thank you for looking and leaving comments. Yes, Chriss, this is the new lens and the Streptocarpus was one of the 'guinea pigs' when I was practising. :)

Hi there Jas. What a wonderfully clear close up you have captured. It is so pleasant to view.

Thanks for the very nice compliment Mary but I feel I must put the record straight. I have just invested in a EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM and I inadvertently forgot to put that in the 'Tools Used' section (will amend it now). This is one of the first shots taken with it. I have to say though, my little 18-55mm lens does take nice close-ups but just lacks very fine detail. Thanks for looking :)

Beautiful closeup Jas. The larger version shows nice detail. It's nice to see a good photograph taken with the kit lens (18-55) because the lens doesn't get good reviews but I've seen some really good photos taken with this lens. Well done.
