About This Image

Macro of a Bluebell.
Voted Britain's favourite flower.
In the UK there are two common species of bluebell, the familiar native bluebell it's characteristis of woodlands, hedges and other shady places, and almost half the world's population of this species is found here.
The Spanish bluebell, is widely cultivated and can be found in many urban setting such as gardens and parks.

In recent years there has been growing concern that our native species is under threat by breeding with the cultivated bluebells.

Enjoy:)

Many thanks Anne, your comments did make me smile and as for the green and white leaves in the background, it is a Euonymus fortunei "Silver Queen".

So, spring is close by? Lovely bluebell picture and framing. I had heard that the Spanish bluebell is threatening the survival of the native plant; very interesting info', thanks. :)
