About This Image

The Skyview Bridge in the middle of this composite replaced the original one that spanned Tampa Harbor over 20 years ago. A freighter crashed into the bridge causing several deaths.
When the new bridge was built, the access ramps were retained and became fishing piers. The St. Petersburg, Florida, skyline is in the distance.
I used a filter on the image to enhance the old and the new structures.

Thank you for your comment. It's always fun to take a walk back through 'Memory Lane' with an image like this - especially when someone like you has experienced both bridges.

That's a really cool composite of the Skyview Bridge. I've been to Tampa several times and really like the area. I used to work for a company that had a store in Tampa and another one in Fort Lauderdale, so I'd fly into Tampa, visit that store, and then drive across the state on Alligator Alley to the other one.

Thanks Don. My brother (who I met for the first time last year) lives in Clearwater - this is the way we go to visit him and his wife fom Fort Myers. It was also the first place I saw wild flamingoes flying - but not in time to get their photo!

Very cool composition Vicki, My brother-in-law lives in Tampa and I've been across both bridges. Neat work! Don
