About This Image

This carved sculpture of pink flamingos in a ship graces Ballena Point in Alameda, CA. Given its condition, I suspect it has been here for several years. It was nothing fancy, but kind of cute and unusual.

As an update, a few months after this photo was shot I found this scultpure vandalized, with the heads broken off the "flamingos". Later the ship was removed. This photo is one of the few records of this sculpture.

Originally a novel by Katherine Ann Porter. Later made into movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059712/. This photo title has nothing to do with either, just thought it applied to the picture. Never read or saw either. Most of my photo titles are the first thought that comes into my head.

forgot to add, that the title is great too : ) believe it's a book/movie? title, but have never read it
