A shaft of light traverses the hillsides and illuminates a herd of grazing cattle near Livermore, CA.
In the background you can see some mountains covered by snow. This is a very rare event in the San Francisco Bay area. It snows around here on the higher elevations about once a year and lasts for just a couple of days.

Only just seen this image, but I'm glad I did! The alternating stripes of light and dark, and the contrast between the green of the field and the blue of the sky, make this an almost abstract picture. A great image.

It is amazing how the grass stays so well-cropped. I'd like to have that in my yard. Those cows do fantastic work. Any way, the lighting and color are lovely.
