Thanks for all of the comments. No, I have not encountered quicksand in South Louisiana. I have in North Louisiana and made it through with little problem because I kept calm. Patches jumped over a gator once and I had to jump over the same gator since the gator was blocking the road and he and I were walking. It was scary. Most of the time gator encounters are not scary. Yes there is all kind of wildlife back here.
