Anyone know what this is??
these rusty wheels once turned on this contraption. Have no idea what it is. Some type of cement mixer or grinder ?? : ) It was out back of a bakery, - from a distance, at first I thought maybe it was an ancient bread maker LOL.

thanks for the input, Doug and Alex. I guess it could be either of your suggestions. Probably a corn sheller tho', as there are canneries in that area, altho mostly fish canneries I thought.

My local expert, here in Illinois, identifies this as a "corn sheller." The ears are fed into the top and the machine separates the kernals from the husk. Probably not many of these in use anymore.
