About This Image

Part of an outdoor exhibit at a Recycling Center in Oakland, CA. (Lakeside Non-Ferrous Metals). Two local artists display their work on the street corner made from recycled items.

This particular piece is made from a large carved log. The piece depicts a pile of football players including the Oakland Raiders and Indiana Colts. Displayed here the overall piece as it stands on the corner. Other pictures include detail of the faces. You can find them on this gallery (Pinetree3).

Fran, regarding the recycled art - Football 1 scultpure, there are several other detailed photos of the piece on this site. You can best find them by going to my gallery (Pinetree3) and clicking on the "Oldest" link. Then go to pages 7 & 8. You will find the same photo along with 3 others on detail of the piece. There is also one additional photo of the other recycled art sculpture as well. These pieces are located at the Lakeside Non-Ferrous Metals in Oakland. 510-444-5466.

the idea is great. i would like to see the sculpture from other angles. more information is needed on how the project was approached and how long it took i would also like to know if the sculpture was transported to its present location upon completion or that it was conceived at set site? I am presently working on a 'junk-a-saurous' with my elementary students. my high school students will be getting a final exam bases on recycling. all information would be appreciated. please post.
