About This Image

The Raccoon, also known as the Northern Raccoon, Common Raccoon, Washing Bear or Coon, is a widespread, medium-sized, omnivorous mammal native to North America.
Since the beginning of the twentieth century, they have also been widespread on the European mainland, after having escaped from fur farms. Raccoons usually live together in small, loose groups. Their original habitats are mixed or deciduous forests, but due to their adaptability, they are often found in urban areas where they can be considered pests.
This Raccoon was photographed near some waste (garbage) bins at night. He was among 5 or 6 others, all scavenging for food.
Thanks for looking, :)

Unfortunately, I don't live in the right country to have these in my garden Brian, but I know someone who has them regularly in hers. Thanks for the nice comments, Janice and Beverly. Yes, Don, we'll call it even I think :); thanks for looking and leaving your neat comments.
