thanks very much, Tania. they are rather cute. they wash their food before they eat it : ) and my DH said he saw the babies playing on our back sundeck, with a piece of carpeting "thread" that had come lose from where he'd put it : ) I had noticed the long "thread" and wondered what it was or why it was hanging there over the steps.

Love the innocence you have captured in this photo. Would love to live in a place with wildlife like this. What I have seen on TV they are mischevious, playfull creatures.

yeah, you're right Fella, - have noticed before in other shots of mine, that as long as there's a narrow twig infront of their eyes, the poor things think they're hiding LOL

thanks Mary. yeah, that does happen here at times too, if there's a very old timer or sick or injured one. However, for the past few summers, have noticed the mothers with young ones do come out here during the day, guess as protection for the babies from the older males that come out at night. These babies are a bit older and bigger than the ones in the pics last year, think I took those earlier ones in June last year, will check out of curiosity. Haven't checked to see if these do come out at nights also, but have heard the "chortling/chirping" sounds that they seem to communicate with, sometimes at nights, so suppose they do. A few nights ago there was an awful racket by a baby out back here, guess it was stuck somewhere : )

Nice shot Alandra. Our Raccoons do not come out til night. If you see them during the day, they are sick or rabid.
