Hi, thanks for the nice comments, and am happy to be able to tell you the names of the plants. I was into gardening a lot more before the computer and photo addiction set in :) We've been to the Butchart Gardens many times over the years. But it's a ferry trip for us to get to "the Island" (Vancouver Island) so we don't get there as often as I'd like, as we have several pets that we don't like to leave too long at a time.

You are so lucky to live in that area! How many times have you been to Butchart Gardens? Beautiful purple heliotrope and thanks for telling me the names of all my flower mysteries!

thanks Alex, - about the different colours of them, I didn't realize there was a White Heliotrope til I happened to find some spray cologne by that name, then Carol put some pics up of the white one also. Had only ever seen the purple variety around here.

thanks Carol, we've never had the white ones : ) I was hoping to find one this summer, after you mentioned them last year, but so far haven't seen any white heliotropes. We haven't been around the garden centers as much this year so far tho', with the weather being so poor earlier. Now it's getting a bit late
