About This Image

A Teasel in mid-September, gone to seed, dry and prickly. These were once harvested and used to comb wool in preparation for spinning. Photographed in Western NY State.

Excellent shot! The textures are superb as is the rich red-brown colour. It looks a bit like honeycomb with spikes!
