many thanks to all for the nice comments, Anne, Mary, AndyMoose & Carol. Andy am surprised you only ever saw one, and that they aren't in your area Carol. They seem quite usual around here and are here all winter, - they are a bit timid, was surprised when this one was taking so many baths, - it kept returning and bathing more :)

What a treat to see a Towhee again. Since I hurt my leg last November, I didn't get out on my bird walking jaunts and really missed them. Thanks Alandra. It's a beautiful picture. It's a gorgeous shot - right to the "red"eye. Wonder if reading caused that. *g*

WOW! Great capture Alandra. I worked in the great outdoors for 22 years with another 17 years as a conservation officer, and I have only seen this bird once. 8^)
