This is one of the first pictures I took with my new camera. Port Taranaki is one of the main ports in New Zealand for container ships, and it also houses the aging New Plymouth thermal power station (built in the 1970's & finally decommissioned in 2007! That's its chimney you can see). Believe it or not, one of the movie sets for the Tom Cruise movie "The Last Samurai" was also built here at the port (a few years in the future! lol).
