About This Image

newly opened pink poppy in our back garden. We have more of these growing out there this year, - it might be due to the loss of the butterfly bush/tree (buddleia) that broke down in a storm last winter, which was adding to a lot of shade in the garden area.

many thanks for the nice comments again, Ikka. Good to hear from you. Well, that poppy we bought recently "came to a sad end", sorry to say. (There is one image of it on my gallery tho'.) It just seemed to fail. So we returned it to the garden center to see what they thought, as it had been expensive. Anyway, they gave us credit to purchase other plants. This poppy and others of the same colour, have been in our back garden for 20 years, without any problems, which is why we were so surprised that the new one died.

Alandra, you told few weeks before, that you had bought some Poppies. It's wonderful to see, that the are so beautiful and the heart of it looks so nicely in blue. Thank you for sharing.

Hi again, Alex D, and thanks again for the nice comments. Agree about flowers being a challenge to capture the way we wish. I like that the "crinkes/creases" in the petals show here, from where it was folded up just before opening, - at least in my version you can see the crinkles moreso. Yes, I love flowers and taking images of them.

Nicely framed. A beautiful image. I find that photographing flowers can be challenging to get both balanced lighting on the subject, as well as accurate colors in the final print. Flowers are fun, aren't they?
