About This Image

We have a row of these shrubs along the edge of our yard. This was taken just after a light rain as the sun was coming back out. I extracted the flower in photoshop. The green was taken from the reflection of one of the water droplets along the edge to tie it in with the flower and give the water droplet a transparent look.

This is very impressive. I love the clarity of the flower and rain drops. I would not have chosen the background colour but it works beautifully

I used a Kodak DX4330. I touched it up in PhotoShop by doing an unsharp mask at 200%, 0.6 pixels, 5 threshhold. That's what brought out the droplet's sparkle. The background was dropped in PhotoShop by using the Extract tool and cutting out just the peony. Then I used the eye dropper to get the green from one of the water droplets, created a new layer, and filled that layer with the green. Then I made another layer, highlighted the whole image, and did a stroke of 2 or 3 pixels using the eyedropper tool to get the red from the peony.

Excellent. Good procedure to use colors from the image for background and digital matts.
