Hi Karen - I'm glad to hear you were in the clear from Rita. We were scheduled to be at Belle Chasse NAS through Thanksgiving. We were evacuated on Thursday due to Rita coming in and just heard that our bosses are going to work things differently, so we won't be going back (they are going to reimburse us our expenses for our time waiting to return). So- our adventure continues - just where, we don't know quite yet!

Thanks for sharing this lovely site. You really did pick a bad time to go through that part of the US. Besides the 1000's of evacuees, we are getting temps over 100 because of Rita. We did not get one drop of rain.

Thank you, Carol and Alandra - actially - I'm thinking of using this one as a letterhead! It is a great location to wait out the effects of Rita. We still don't know when we can return - many cell phone towers are out south of New Orleans and friends camping in Jackson - northwest of us are having an awful time with tornadoes. It's a bit daunting!

Looks like a great campground site. Carol
