A local landmark (which is actually part of the core of an extinct volcano, I think) that some idiots set on fire. Shame that common sense & respect don't seem to be prevalent in the younger generation these days! However, the helicopter pilot using the monsoon bucket was doing a bang-up job dousing the flames (just a tad too steep for the firemen & their hoses!).

My grandsons watched this unfold with there dad, 11 year old informed me that these kids should be locked up for being so stupid lighting fires, now when he's at the beach he's going to keep any eye on Paritutu and that if he see smoke dad will ring the cops, I hope he carries on being this senseible as he grows up, thanks for sharing and we quite agree with you.
