Here's the parent owl, giving the food to the young owl, - the parent owl's talons with the prey can be seen here. In this capture, I believe the baby owl has his tail facing the parent, - guess the baby has not turned yet to face the parent to receive the food.

thanks very much, Vicki for the nice comments, glad you like them : ) The owls are close to home, about 5 mins drive from us, down near the beach, they've been nesting and raising young there for many years. We weren't there very long that day, I didn't expect the pics to show much, as the owls were very high up. Hope to get some "lower" shots one of these days.
