This was taken near the replica of Fort St. Jean Baptiste which is in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
This is a picture of Cane River Lake. The government would not allow the town to dam the river so they built two land bridges. A land bridge is completely made of land and so acts as a dam. This is typical of some of the antics of Louisiana and its politics. I hope you appreciate the frame I gave it. I did not want to take a picture of just plain water as that would be boring.

Thanks. It is right along the trail to the fort. It gives one a chance to convert their minds from modern times to way back to the 1700s.
