About This Image

Another view of this beautiful female orb web spider. She was a good four inches long and was patiently waiting for dinner to arrive. I was amazed that the lens would let me move in so close. I guess the catagory for "spider" needs to be added to the list as it is not an insect.

Thank you, Zoya, for your kind words. I have learned much about these spiders on the internet. They are quite fascinating.

A wonderful capture. and I learned something new. I had not realized they ate the web before making a new one.

Thank you, Talsi, for your thoughtful feedback. I learned that she eats the web before spinning another one.

Nice capture - I like colors and the composition with the web and spider being on the diagonal

Thank you, Vicki and Alan, for your kind feedback. I had accidently downloaded the same image twice but have fixed that problem. I guess that is what happens when I play on my computer in the middle of the night. Lol!

Great capture of the spider and it's web. I like how the light is shining on the web and the spider's legs.

A beautiful capture, Karen. Actually, an 'Arachnid' category may very well be apt with all the lovely images we've seen on TLF. Vicki
