Guest - Dec 26, 2006 06:37 PM EDT It's very much the same over here, some of the bigger farmers have brought out alot of the small holdings, where they might not have one large farm they have several farms, with employies on each, or some times family members, The Maori own alot of the land over here, and the farmers can lease it, but over the generations there are more owners than acres of land, the result often being disputes, and because of the increasing land values I think alot of it is just greed as well.
Guest - Dec 26, 2006 05:46 PM EDT Do they still have family diary farms, we used to here in Maine but it become so hard for farmers to make a decent living the small family farms are becoming a thing of the past. Very sad.
