About This Image

A pair of old boats lay on the grass across from the Port of Oakland.

I like this picture for several reasons. Firstly, I believe the best pictures are simple. This photo incorporates a very simple subject and form.

I also like the contrast between the boats and the grasses. The natural weathering of both ties them together.

Another nice feature of this picture is the lighting. I employed a slightly desaturated tone, that works well with windblown, worn subjects and landscapes.

Pinetree, I really like this photograph. The grass bending with the breeze. The angle of the boats. Great capture. I have enjoyed viewing it.
