About This Image

When this fuel pump was last used to fill boat tanks the gas only cost thirteen cents per gallon(with tax)! I remember when thirty-six cents was considered expensive!
This was taken at the Rod and Gun Club and Lodge in Everglades City.

Thank you Tania, Steve and Talsi. Most of my pelican images were taken by this spot too as they swam right up by the dock (no alligators for a change in that area!!) Talsi, sometimes I think my photos are following you - you knew most of the Hatteras images I took two years ago too!!! Glad to oblige. It's New York this summer - Watkins Glen - can't wait for the Finger Lakes Region pics! Vicki

Nice shot. I like the contrast between the orange of the pump and the blue of the sky, and also the sense of depth from foreground to background.

What a great peice of history. I love the way you have captured it with the water in the background. It tells its own story.
