Hi Alandra - the red "pattern" above the basket is actually the pilot adding heat to lift the "envelope" or balloon higher. There is a piece of the same fabric that works like a wind deflector to protect the flame (which is only added as necessary to propel the balloon). Like the fabric itself, it is translucent, snd I nailed the shot as it lit up. Because of the cloudless sky behind it I decided to frame the balloon and basket with a filter from my photo editing program

lovely shot of such a gorgeous balloon, Vicki. Have not seen one like this before. The red/pattern at the bottom remind me of a Chinese lantern. Like the background, how did you do that?
