I guess this bloom is not to be picked for a vase. :-) Great capture, Alan. So different from the new england states, but so interesting to see and read about.

Hi Claudia, Thanks very much!! I love my old Canon G3 point and shoot it does take nice close ups.. I'm not sure what the name is of this one, they only get to be around a foot or so tall, the part you see is about the size of your hand. Each plant has about 8 to 10 of these growing up in a circle, you can see some more of it in the background.

Wow,great closeup.Pretty spikey, gives the viewer a real good idea just what these plants look like.How big would this cactus be?
