Guest - Nov 02, 2007 02:46 AM EDT This looks like a National Geographic quality photo. Beautiful composition filled with emotion.
Guest - Dec 20, 2006 09:29 PM EDT I had been told of this photo but had never seen it. I am glad I now have and can judge for myself
I agree with Steve.
To me this photo does tell a story we are all fortunate we do not live like this. to me this kind of Nat Geo photo reminds me that with my physical disabilities I am still so very lucky.
I love and respect the thought that has gone into this photo
Guest - Dec 03, 2006 01:22 PM EDT Yes, Kevyboy, me!
First, there is the overall impression of the loneliness and distress of this small child. Then there is the way that this is reinforced by positioning of the child in the frame, overwhelmed by the presence of the wall looming over him. And then the dark forbidding doorway which seems to emphasise that this child is caught between isolation and danger. The grainy monochrome adds to this menacing atmosphere. I love this image: although it's not a pleasant thing to view, it is a challenging one.
Don't know if a single word of that made any sense to you!
Steve

Guest - May 05, 2005 03:42 PM EDT Such a sad picture. I like the picture's grain. Was this added with Photoshop or part of the original?
