About This Image

A shot of my front room in France. The table is made from the support for the driver's seat of a long-distance "stage coach" which ran in the 19th century between Poland, France and Spain. It is made from wood and metal, and has extraordinary carvings and little metal decorations, as you can hopefully see from the detailed images. It's wonderful to think of all this work going into something that would hardly ever be seen - something that we'd never bother to do these days.

Thanks, Mary. The new site is superb, and I love the ability to post large versions and close-ups, so I'm glad you found them useful!

Very nice shot Steve. I really enjoyed looking at the large version and the closeup image details that you included of the driver's seat support. The information you added on the history makes it even more interesting.
