While out taking my daily walk about in the desert I lucked out and ran into a family of chipmunks. I had to stand perfectly still for about five minuets then they started coming out from the cactus. The mom would come out and then the babies would come out. She would then run them back into the cactus, then stand on her hind legs checking me out.

Hi Alandra and Jas, Thanks so much for your great comments. I'm always ready to get some wild critter shots but those chipmunks are so fast, but I will keep trying. It is something how most of the animals in the desert use the cactus as protection. Thanks Jas for the wildlife TV program thought, maybe I can us your comment as a reference for a job with National Geographic LOL.. I'm glad you enjoyed my photo :)

that is the cutest sight, Alan!! DH and I both loved it. I hope you can get some shots of the babies also. loved hearing how Mama chased the youngsters back into the cactus home.

I don't know Janice, I think if she ran up and starting using those claws and teeth on my leg I would be the looser LOL.. Good thing there friendly, as fast as they can move.
