thanks for all the nice comments, Mary, Beverly, Janice and Doug. Was sorta hoping one image would show the driver waving, too, Mary :) -infact I did look for that -- just like they always used to wave when, as a child, I'd wave over the fence at the foot of my grandma's back garden. So far I haven't found any shots of that tho'.

Like the closer view you got of the locomotive. Now the engineer should have waved. :) It's nice to get out and take photos of different things/landscapes.

thanks for the nice comments Alan and Alex. The train was moving along at quite a clip, we were stopped at the railroad X-ing. The next frame was better, but didn't get all the locomotive in the frame

Woo Hoo!! I had no idea you could take a photo of something so big :-) Really nice photo with no distractions in the background, and you can even see all the wheels and under the engine with your low vantage point.
