About This Image

Limnanthes (Poached Egg Flower), varietie L.douglasii is the only species you will find in the catalogues.
There are several reasons for choosing this plant for edging or planting in a border. I find it makes a welcome change from Aubrieta and Lobelia which are seen in a lot of gardens, the two-toned flowers are both abundant and colourful. The ferny foliage is pale green and low-growing, spreading habit makes it also suitable for a rockery.
Any reasonable soil will do - loves full sun, highly attractive the bees.

Enjoy:)

Wow! Profuse color! I love it Chriss. These happy colors are warm and exciting to view. I see where they got the name. The inset photo also is so nice. The discription is very interesting and helpful.
