Lightning ...again

More lightning, probably the storm of the year, but not the best.....yet
If your out after a good lightning Shot, before anything else make sure you are well protected, and stay well clear of trees, when I eventually find the pictures I'll put them up here but its of a tree hit by lightning and its blown it apart, not a small tree as well so stay well covered.
Find bulb mode, its wonderful I only have 30 seconds on my camera but its better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. If you have a DSLR most of the new ones have this option, I'm not totally sure which do but I know the Sony A300, A350 & A700 do and the bulb mode on those models stay open as long as you want.
Anyway good luck, safety first ! No point if you get the best shot but are killed for it, and take many shots, I take between 150 to 300 depending on how long the storm goes for, and ND (Natural Density) filter will help with over exposure of very close lighning, I use and ND8, got it from ebay and cost $10.00 so it doen't have to be expensive.
