great market series Steve! i understand what you saying about these animals they do the same in spain with dogs etc ..back to the picture they are cute and cuddly lovely picture to looks like its grinning

Thanks Alandra, Mary and Lorraine for your appreciative comments. Alandra, I wondered if this might be a shetland pony, but I think in fact it's a similar french breed. The livestock part of the market is a bit worrying as I wonder about the welfare of the animals - the French are a bit less sentimental about this kind of thing!
