About This Image

Les Herolles is a small French village that is famous as the host of France's largest street market. The market is held on the 29th of each month, and sells everything imaginable, and this series of pictures gives you a flavour! The market is bigger than the whole village, and spills over into the surrounding roads.

This stall is selling air dried and cured hams.

Yes, those hams are superb! In France they often serve slices of the ham with gerkins, and butter to spread on the ham - a delicious if probably deadly treat!
