Hi Steve, Thanks very much for your thoughts on taking these photos. I see your point, I was so involved with just taking the photos that my creative thinking was shut off. This year I will for sure get some different and lower views.

I think I'd have taken the shot from a point of view further to the left and lower down so that the car is appearing to come towards the viewer more. I'd also think about using a wider angle lens and getting in much closer which would also have given the shot a bit more dynamism. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the shot as you've taken it, but I just think it's a bit "standard" if you see what I mean. Maybe it needs something to make it stand out from the crowd a bit more.

Hi Carol, Thanks for your nice thoughts about this photo :) I'm really glad that they at least came out viewable, I was so nervous with all of them expecting nice photos. Hi Brian, Thanks very much for your help... I was so afraid of having blurry shots that I used the wide depth of field, maybe this year I'll live on the wild side and use F/4 LOL.. What the girls wear is out of my hands, they did think about what color would work with the cars but being at a park and things a little confusing that did not always work out LOL..

Ok, so now I've read the other comments too. Sorry for the 3rd comment, but I just thought of something. If you're stuck with a busy background next time, try and see what you can do to limit your depth of field. If the trees in the background were all out of focus, it might create a much better image. Just a thought.

I just read your description. I don't think surrounding her with sunflowers was necessarily bad. Honestly, I didn't even notice them until you mentioned it. I think her pose is good. She balances out the visual weight of the car. She's the focal point of the picture though since she's wearing red against a bunch of green trees. So, if you were going for that, great. If you wanted the car to be the focus, you missed it a little. However, overall I think it's a good picture.

Hi Art57, Thanks very much for your suggestions... The guys paid for there cars to be in the calendar so really the car was the subject, but the girls are distracting LOL.. Hmmm the background is busy.. We need to find a better location for sure. I will try and remember to Get Even Closer, that is a great rule that I missed a little. With 12 girls and other people watching, you get a little nervous and don't think of everything. Hey what do your want, money or to look cool riding around ROFL.. That car cost more than my house ='.'=

Get in closer to crop out some of the distracting background. If you want to really focus in on the model, have her leaning on the left fender and get really close in and show just enough of the car so it can be identified. A lesson I learned years ago, move in till you think you have it then move in some more.
