I've not heard of a groom's cake. Although my husband did have his own cake on our wedding day. He had an excuse though - it was his 40th birthday!

Whoops forgot to say that I have been to few weddings in the last 20 years that have not had a groom's cake. I have not been to one before 20 years ago where there was one though.

Thanks. Mary and I left before it was cut but I believe it was. She was sick and my back was bothering me. Mary is better now. I just need to be careful with the old back.

that looks delicious! Neat idea too, have never heard of a Groom cake before. was the cake chocolate all the way thru'?
