About This Image

beautiful Japanese Waxwing at the Bloedel Conservatory, Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver, BC.
Have been waiting for the Cedar Waxwings to appear in our garden, no luck so far, - so was very happy to see these more colourful Japanese Waxwings at the Conservatory : ) Their feathers are sooo smooth, you can't see much definition in them

many thanks, Alex and Anne for the nice comments. It was a pleasant surprise for me to see this waxwing at the Conservatory, as have been hoping for Cedar waxwings to visit us, but none so far this summer.

What a beautiful waxwing. I have only seen the cedar waxwings and had no idea there was a streak of flamboyance in the waxwing family. How much we learn from your pictures. Thank you.
