This flower is a Japanese Magnolia. It is the only type of foliage the Japanese Magnolia tree has and lasts for a short while. It is precious to take pictures of them while they lasts.

Thanks. I took about 10 shots and decided this one was best because it showed not only the flower but the purple petals on the green grass. I thought that made a good contrast.
