wasn't sure if you knew the names, so hoped to perhaps help. wasn't sure if the pilot was giving you a running commentary or not : ) In that same "island chain", the islands on the US side of the border are called the "San Juan islands".

Thank you Alandra and fella for your nice comments. I didn't know the name of the landforms as I snapped away. I was trying to get my money's worth for that 30 minute flight. It cost me over $300, but it was worth it.

Nice shot. believe these would be the Gulf Islands. the BC Ferries travel through these waterways enroute to "the Island" (Vancouver Island) also. Infact, that might be a Ferry in the distance in this scene.
