About This Image

Once he finished off his bird seed snack and destroyed yet another birdfeeder, this black bear started seeking anything else potentially tasty under Larry and Dee's awning. Thwarted, he returned for the last licks of his earlier snack.

Thank you Alandra - I have so many images to post on TLF - but my computer crashed the day before Easter and I still don't have it back from Best Buy's Geek Squad in Middletown, New York, where I took it On April 18. On the way north I took it in while in Manassas, Virginia. Their Geek Squad worked hard for three days trying to recover it unsuccessfully and suggested I get the discs from Sony and take it to the Geek Squad closest to the park I'm working at this summer. I have a 3-year service policy with them. I've now disxocered that the Best Buy management and Geek Squad in that store are equally terrible - it's not just towards me. I've reached all the way to Corporate with no resolution, and, as of now, my computer is sitting in a Service Center in Kentucky somewhere. The good news is that everything was backed up on my EHD - except for the Restoration discs!!! I'll post again when I get it back and running properly. Vicki

Thank you Carol and Sparkle. We have so many curious wild animals around here. I was just looking at Alandra's photo where she was feeding one of these beautiful creatures. That was amazing. Vicki

Thank you, Alex. I'm surprised you didn't hear the bear as they're quite noisy.

Good morning, Beverly. Black bears have been common around here for quite some time. After 15 years I'm surprised they've eluded you! Vicki

Nice capture. I have lived in the Smokey Mtn area now for 15 yrs and have yet to see a bear in the wild.

Hi Mary and Lorraine. Apparently black bears are fairly common around here. We've had several cubs with their mothers - this is the first time I've seen one. Lorraine, I'm not sure how big they get around here - I have to find out - he does seem to be fairly young. Vicki

Looks like a young bear? he looks lovely, not that I'd want to get to close, I hope he moves on for you soon.

Great capture Vicki...he is gorgeous. I guess you have to watch your pets there. Is it usual for bears to be in the area?
