thanks for the nice comments, Beverly and Lorraine. Lorraine, hummingbirds return to our area of western Canada each year, around March, and they remain all summer, while the flowers are blooming, then they return to warmer areas in Arizona, California and Mexico. We hang nectar feeders out each spring (in March or so), which they feed from until the flowers start blooming. They prefer red flowers which are tubular, so they can get at the nectar with their long beaks/feeding tubes. We make the nectar for the feeders from boiled, cooled water and regular/ granulated sugar. We plant flowers in our gardens that the hummers prefer, to attract them. We love watching them. They have beautiful iridescent feathers.

We don't have Humming Birds here, they are a very pretty little bird, are they quite comon in your gardens, a lovely shot
