thanks very much, Vicki. I wish I could get some better shots minus the feeder, we lowered the feeder but so far no luck. When the hummers see me at the window, they sometimes veer away and go to the feeder hanging out back : ) It's actually a telephoto lens. will chat later.

Alandra - another beauty. THe colors in its plumage are wonderful. What camera are you using for these incredible macros?

thankyou Lulu, for the encouraging praise. I've never thought of your photos as being those of a novice tho'. I esp love your flower macros! Will look forward to seeing more soon.

This is an excellent shot Alandra. You sure are doing brilliant things with your camera. I spoke to a graphic designer today who creates car brochures and has studied photography. He came into work asking to borrow a baby car-seat for one of his brochures (I manage a baby-goods store) so while he was there I told him I want to learn more about photography as I'm a real novice. He was keen on giving me advice and will drop some info in to me. Hopefully then I can get some shots like this. Well done!

Very clear shot. It looks as if he is saying,"you looking at me."

Great still shot of a bird that moves a lot.

Terrific - good exposure and sharpness, I like that you got the catchlight in it's eye.
