About This Image

Hummingbird feeding at the bleeding heart flowers in the upper border on front patio. Taken from the open front window, with telephoto lens.

Not sure if this is a Rufous female, or Rufous immature male. (or maybe an Allens) It chases the young hummer around the garden a lot, with amazing speeds and manoevers : )

thankyou Carol and Beverly. Didn't realize the hummers go to that type of Bleeding heart either, - this is the first year we've had this type of BH, - we've had the small flowered type for years, and I've seen them feeding from those. We keep trying to dig that other type out, but it always reappears : )

Wonderful shot of the hummer. I didn't even realize they went to Bleeding Hearts. Also, a nice composition.
