About This Image

white horse biting at the brown horse, which is rearing up on it's hind legs. Is this playing or mean-ness? Know very little about horses and how they act towards each other.

as an update, we've been by this stables a few times since these were taken, and have noticed the brown horse is isolated now, so were happy to see this.

I do also. But they are in quite a large field, and earlier I notice they were feeding side by side, - as in the other photo. Am sure it's the same 2 horses. Will have to go by there again soon and see what's going on :)

Great action shot. I feel sorry for the dark horse if it has nowhere to run from the aggressive white horse.

thanks for the nice comments, Alex, Golda and Steve. The same thought ran thru my mind also, Steve. Thanks also for the suggestions, - had wondered about the stallion ritual situation too.

Interesting shot, Alandra! For some reason it puts me in mind of the horses in a greek frieze.

WOW!! great action shot,it looks like they are trying to establish which one is going to be the boss.

Great horse shots Alandra.Apparently stallions will exhibit this kind of behaviour. You know, survival of the fittest, and all that.
