I was about 6-8 foot from the bird for this shot. Camera has a 10X zoom and does great up to about 25 foot. Does not do macros well at all.

Thank you Alandra. I have been blessed in that I seem to be able to get extremely close to many animals and hope to share those experiences.

that's the best Great Horned owl shot I've seen, fabulous. We have them living near us, and watch the parents raise the young each year. Can't get that close to the wild owls tho' : )
