Just ran across this beautiful image, had to leave a comment. I agree with others, it does remind one of other things, for me it's some of the Hubble Telescope's images of nebulae and other regions in space. And does anyone else see the profile of a man's face on the left side of the image, with a prominent nose, bushy hair and a full beard, gazing downward toward the setting sun?

Thank you, Anne, Ikkacapellan and Marysham, for your kind words. The colors were certainly not as colorful as other sunsets but the cloud formation was nice.

I'm taking another look Karen. The colors are so beautiful and Doug is right about this making a lovely background for a digital creation.

I agree with Talsi and with Karen, I just want to keep on looking at this picture and it reminds me of a Japanese art print of a tidal wave, also. I have a hard time to get away from it. A scienc fiction writers dream. Also a great picture to look deep into and be drawn right into another world and also of rain clouds tumbled at sunset. I love it. Congratulations on the capture of a great and versatile scene.

Thank you all for the nice comments. For some reason this reminded me of a Japanese art print of a tidal wave.

Lovely capture Karen, this would make a great background for digital creations, or people, too. Nicely done.

This is one of those photos that you just want to keep looking at. Beautiful.

Thank you, Carol, Mary Sham and Robert. This color was short-lived. The gray clouds completely blocked out the sunset soon after I shot this.

This does indeed look like a giant wave. I like the touch of pink on the clouds.

At first glance the thumbnail looked like a giant wave crashing...the clouds on this remind me of the same thing...beautiful.
